Neil Lennon was the last former Celtic player to be in the Parkhead dugout, and that didn’t end well.
Although that was Lennon picking up the mess from when Brendan Rodgers left Celtic the first time around, could another former player follow suit again?
It won’t be Lennon this time, but could Robbie Keane become Celtic’s next manager? The former striker’s name has been heavily linked.
One man who knows Keane very well is Jamie O’Hara, who played under Keane at Tottenham Hotspur, where the Irishman was his captain.

Jamie O’Hara on Robbie Keane possibly becoming Celtic’s next manager
Keane is currently in charge of Hungarian champions Ferencvaros, and they are third in the table, two points off the leaders with a game in hand.
Speaking on Sky Sports, O’Hara told Celtic fans, ‘don’t write off’ Keane to become the next manager, even if supporters think ‘he isn’t right for us.’
O’Hara explained what type of person the Republic of Ireland striker was in the dressing room by stating that he was an ‘amazing captain’ during their days at Spurs.
Either way, O’Hara feels Keane is a ‘top manager’ in the making and thinks he could become Celtic’s next permanent manager, with Martin O’Neill currently holding the fort, alongside Shaun Maloney.
“He absolutely was (a natural leader),” said O’Hara. “Keano was an amazing captain. Amazing person.
“As a leader in the dressing room, in terms of standards being set. I know he has been linked with the football club. He is managing at (Ferencvarosi).
“I know Celtic fans probably think, ‘he isn’t right for us yet. Maybe he isn’t the guy.’ He has gone and done his management, where probably you wouldn’t expect people to go. He has won the league. He has won a cup. Then he has gone to Hungary and won the league again.
“So, he has won two league titles. We talk about Graham Potter at Ostersunds. You would say, ‘who are Ostersunds?’ And he goes and gets a really good job. Don’t write Keano off.
“Robbie, I know him as being a player and a captain, a proper leader. Whether he is right for Celtic yet, I don’t know. He is going to be a big manager. He is a top manager, and he is a leader in the dressing room.”
