It’s the small matter of the Glasgow derby on Sunday.

Over the years, there have been some belting games between Celtic and Rangers, as Ibrox could just produce another fascinating and enthralling episode of this hotly contested rivalry.

Only last season, Celtic beat Rangers on penalties to lift the League Cup, after an exhilarating 3-3 draw after extra-time.

That was, without a doubt, one of the great games in the rich history of this never-ending rivalry, but which game would Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker put forward?

Well, it’s an iconic one of the highest order!

Sky Sports commentator Ian Crocker apologises to Barry Ferguson and recalls Celtic’s famous 6-2 win over Rangers

Supporters of both Celtic and Rangers will recognise the voice of Ian Crocker, a boyhood West Ham United fan, who has been Sky Sports’ lead commentator in this fixture since 1998.

Speaking on Go Radio, Crocker was asked to name some of his favourite Glasgow derby moments, and he put one game forward that will live long in the memory of the Celtic Park faithful.

Sitting next to former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson, the Sky commentator had to first say ‘sorry’ before sharing that Celtic’s 6-2 win over the Gers, in Martin O’Neill’s first game of this fixture, is his favourite.

“That era, in particular, obviously with a bit of money around then, we had some terrific players to watch,” said Crocker. “It was fantastic.

“Great games, and some top talents on show. Funnily enough, if I were to pick out my two favourite Glasgow derby games, I would go back to that era, which seems a bit sad because I have been in it 20-odd years since.

“But the 6-2 game. Sorry, Barry (Ferguson) at Celtic Park. Martin O’Neill’s first Glasgow derby. Fantastic.”

How times have changed since 2000

From that utterly devastating start to that Henrik Larsson goal, that game is one of the favourites for many, many Celtic supporters.

But it’s amazing how times have changed because, back then, it wasn’t so long ago that Rangers were winning nine in a row.

Since those times, Celtic have been the top dogs in Scotland, and the trophy haul is proof of it.
