Nicolas Kuhn has been in the form of his life for Celtic this season, and his consistency has catapulted the winger to being one of the first names on Brendan Rodgers’ teamsheet.
Initially, Kuhn made a limited impact for the Bhoys due to illness last season after completing a £3.5 million move from Rapid Vienna at the start of 2024.
However, a strong pre-season and no further fitness complications have shone a true light on his capabilities this term after extensive work with Brendan Rodgers.

Sitting at the midway point, Kuhn has emerged as a potential Celtic Player of the Year contender due to a tremendous string of performances. The former RB Leipzig man has 16 goals and 11 assists to his name in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Endearing himself to his adoring public, the Hoops’ fans ‘Super Nicolas Kuhn’ chant has illustrated their appreciation for a figure who has become a pivotal cog in their side’s machinery.
Taking pride in his work, the man in question has delved into why he has become a touchstone for Celtic and why he has inherited a Midas touch during the first half of this term.
Nicolas Kuhn explains main reason behind Celtic form
Speaking after the Bhoys’ victory over St Mirren, Kuhn made it clear that his teammates are the biggest reason behind his fine run of form while also painted a hopeful picture that could involve a long association with Celtic.
He stated: “No, I think this is the best, but it’s also the best team I’ve played in yet. All the teammates and stuff make it a lot easier for me and I’m just happy to be here.”
He continued: “I’m not focused on the numbers; we just have to perform well, and that’s what I try to do. For me, the most important (thing) is to stay fit, that’s what I’ve always said and at the end, it’s about winning trophies and I’m not so focused on the numbers.
“I think it’s just the surroundings. I feel really good; I’m happy to be here. As I said, everyone makes it easy for me and I’m just enjoying to play.”
Finally, he ended when asked whether he could stay at Celtic for years to come: “Yeah, I have a long contract.”
Celtic looking to tie Nicolas Kuhn to contract extension
Unsurprisingly, Celtic are looking to tie Kuhn down to a contract extension and his representative, Fabian Dingler, has been in Glasgow to try and push a deal over the line.
Rewarding his excellent displays with improved financial terms appears to be the smart solution for all concerned within negotiations.
Regardless of any forthcoming transfer interest, Celtic are in a commanding position concerning Kuhn’s immediate future, and there is optimism among supporters that he could be around for the foreseeable future to play a starring role in more success.
