Celtic are getting busy in the transfer window this summer.

Brendan Rodgers has already added Kieran Tierney to his Celtic first-team and, by all accounts, there could be at least another two players being added next week.

Callum Osmand is Celtic Park-bound after the young Fulham striker reportedly completed a medical at the Parkhead club last week.

And as Celtic still search for their Kyogo replacement, an international striker who is on Rodgers’ radar has been told by Johan Mjallby that Paradise is the perfect move for him.

Johan Mjallby tells Benjamin Nygren he can fulfil his Champions League ‘dream’ at Celtic

Nygren has won just one competition over his current career. The Swede won the Belgian Super Cup with Hyeongyu Oh’s current club, Genk.

However, at Celtic, the Swede will not just win silverware, he’ll also get the chance to finalise his big European dream.

Mjallby told The Herald, “Benjamin Nygren can fulfil his Champions League dream at Celtic.

“He only needs to look at Celtic’s last Champions League campaign, which was very successful, and we saw a lot of good things from the team, especially in the away games against the likes of Atalanta and Bayern Munich, where they showed that they had matured a lot in that arena.

“Brendan Rodgers was very happy that he had established himself as a manager in Europe with Celtic.”

Benjamin Nygren told playing in front of Celtic supporters ‘is something special’

But not only is Mjallby convinced Nygren will get Champions League football at Celtic, the ex-Hoops defender is positive that the striker will have seen nothing like the electric Parkhead support when Europe’s elite come visiting.

Mjallby continued, “Celtic are clearly trying to clinch some early signings by bringing in a few good players and showing they mean business.

“Nygren falls into that category, and Brendan will be trying to replicate what they did last season or do even better this season. The Champions League is the money pit, and that’s where the riches are, of course, but it is no surprise that Nygren wants to pit his wits on that stage and compete against the best and Celtic are the team who can elevate his game to that level.

“Playing for Celtic in the Champions League is something special. Nygren will know that Celtic will play to a 60,000 packed house every time they play at home in that competition. They are not called the best supporters in the world for nothing. Surely he knows all about that.”

Nygren has never experienced Champions League football before. In fact, the only European football the Swede has experienced is in the Europa Conference League.

The Sweden striker has made nine appearances and scored five goals in UEFA’s third-tier competition.

But nothing, absolutely nothing compares to Champions League nights at Celtic Park and that is something that Nygren will, hopefully, experience next season.
