It’s amazing to see the rise of Jeremie Frimpong in recent years.
The fresh-faced right-back joined Celtic from Manchester City’s academy in 2019, but he had never played a single minute in the professional game.
Celtic provided Frimpong with that chance, and the then-teenager took it with both hands, proving to be a huge success and then securing a transfer to Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.
That road has led the Dutch star back to British shores because, in the summer, Liverpool secured Frimpong’s talents, and his plans are pretty clear.
What did you make of Jeremie Frimpong’s Celtic spell? And do you think he will succeed in the Premier League?

Jeremie Frimpong on emulating Celtic success at Liverpool
Celtic are all about winning trophies, that’s why they are Scotland’s most successful club, and chasing a record-breaking 56th Premiership title this season.
Liverpool are the champions of England, and Frimpong made it clear, just like he did at Parkhead, he wants to win ‘everything’ with the Reds, as he told Sky Sports.
“So, for me personally, I won everything in Celtic,” said Frimpong. “I won everything at Leverkusen. I want to win everything in Liverpool. Do you get it?
“This is like why I play football. I want to win all the competitions.”
Frimpong’s Celtic career in numbers
It’s never easy dealing with the pressures of Celtic. You have to win every single week, no matter what. Whether you are a player or a manager.
Wilfried Nancy found that out the hard way, lasting only 33 days and eight games in charge, before being sacked.
Therefore, you have to credit someone like Frimpong for coming into Glasgow as a teenager, dealing with the pressures, and walking away with numerous trophies.
- Games: 51
- Goals: 3
- Assists: 8
- Trophies: 3
