The wait goes on for Celtic fans when it comes to appointing a new manager.
It has been clear for several weeks now that Wilfried Nancy is the man Celtic want to bring in, but it’s just a case of confirming his appointment.
But following Celtic’s late win over St Mirren on Saturday evening, which saw the champions close the gap to leaders Hearts to four points, with a game in hand, after the Jambos were beaten at Aberdeen.
Things seem to be moving closer on the Nancy front, as Jim White alluded to on the radio on Monday morning.

Jim White on Wilfried Nancy becoming Celtic’s next manager
This is a busy period for Celtic, with no rest in midweek up until late December, but White told talkSPORT that it’s now ‘looking like a matter of time’ before Nancy comes in.
White, who was sitting alongside O’Neill on the day Brendan Rodgers resigned from his Celtic post, stated that the Columbus Crew boss could be in the dugout ‘a couple of games from now.’
“Our old chum Martin O’Neill is still in interim charge,” said White.
“It’s my understanding that it’s now looking like a matter of time before this fella, from Columbus Crew, Wilfried Nancy, comes over and takes over, after Martin has done his interim stint. It could well be a couple of games from now that Nancy is put in position.
“Maybe a couple more games for Martin. One in Europe, and one in the SPFL. Then, it could well be cue Wilfried Nancy coming in from Columbus Crew.
“That is far from firmed up, but we are chasing further information on that as we speak.”

Martin O’Neill’s record in his second stint at Celtic
Celtic fans will be forever grateful for Martin O’Neill coming in during a period of uncertainty, abject performances on the pitch, and discontent off it.
Put aside Celtic’s defeat in Europe, you can’t fault what O’Neill has done on the domestic stage, especially closing the gap and putting the pressure back on leaders Hearts.
But ahead of Celtic’s trip to the Netherlands, where they take on Robin van Persie’s struggling Feyenoord, this is how O’Neill’s record looks in his second stint in charge.
- Games: 5
- Wins: 4
- Draws: 0
- Losses: 1
- Goals scored: 13
- Goals conceded: 4
