John Hartson has urged his old club to tie down Celtic man for ‘plenty more years’ before the season ends.
The former Celtic striker was speaking at his annual golf event to raise funds and raise awareness about testicular cancer in his ‘Grab Life By The Balls’ campaign when Hartson urged his the Parkhead board to open up the purse strings.
With Celtic on the verge of another treble, Hartson has told the Hoops that they must look to tie down the man who has been central to the Parkhead club’s success this season before clubs from the continent try and court him away from Glasgow.
With just four games left of the season, now is the perfect time to give Celtic a Scottish Cup boost and deliver a contract that will not only delight the supporters, but the Celtic first-team as well.

John Hartson warns Celtic Brendan Rodgers ‘will’ be wanted by clubs in Spain & Italy
Brendan Rodgers returned to Celtic in the summer of 2023 with an aim to repair his bond with the supporters and raise the club’s standing Europe.
With the Celtic manager on the brink of creating more history in Glasgow, Hartson has urged the club to extend Rodgers’ contract before it expires at the end of next season.
Hartson told The Scottish Sun, “Brendan’s come back, he’ll certainly do the three years at the club with the contract that he signed.
“I think one million per cent he’s in for next year. The issue you’ve got is the whole year Brendan will be asked, ‘Are you staying? Or are you going?’.
“He doesn’t want that to affect the team. Brendan will be linked with big moves to Italy, Spain or wherever.
“But for everyone’s sake, there needs to come a time at some stage next season where he comes out and tells people about his future.
“In an ideal world, he’d stay. And hopefully he’d stay for plenty more years.”
