Johnny Kenny has found his goal-scoring boots after leaving Celtic for Bolton Wanderers.
After Kenny’s inability to cement a place in Celtic’s XI during the first half of the campaign, he was shipped out on loan to English League One side Bolton in January, and he is enjoying himself.
On Good Friday, Kenny scored as ten-man Bolton beat Plymouth to keep alive their faint hopes of securing automatic promotion to the Championship – they are eight points behind second-placed Cardiff City.
Both of Bolton’s goals, with Kenny netting from the spot, came after the away side were reduced to ten men against a Plymouth team pushing for a top-six finish.

Kenny was handed another start, and after a positive opening 45 minutes, Bolton were reduced to ten men just before the break when John McAtee was sent off.
But when the game restarted for the second half, Kenny’s threatening run and quick feet resulted in Mathias Ross handling the ball inside the box and a penalty was awarded.
The Celtic man made no mistake and dispatched his spot kick to open the scoring – Bolton would go on to secure all three points with a 2-1 win.

Will Bolton sign Kenny in the summer?
You sense this is the right time for Celtic to part ways with Kenny and allow him to thrive elsewhere because it hasn’t worked in Glasgow.
There will be a major clearout at Celtic in the summer, and the department that requires the most changes is up front.
Unless Celtic’s next manager wants Kenny to be part of his plans, Bolton might just be the place for the Irishman to take his career to the next level.
