Josip Juranovic reveals what Artur Boruc told him before joining Celtic

Celtic defender Josip Juranovic has shared what iconic former Hoops goalkeeper Artur Boruc told him before leaving Legia Warsaw to join the Bhoys.

Boruc, now 41, is still playing with his beloved Legia in Poland and played alongside Juranovic last season before his switch to Glasgow. The two were close, as evidenced by dressing room videos last summer when Juranovic said goodbye to his teammates.

And today, Juranovic has shared what Boruc told him before joining Celtic in a club Q+A, stating: “He said this opportunity to play for Celtic was one I needed to take. He said I would love it here because of the fans and the city.”

So far, Boruc has been spot on. The legendary goalkeeper built his own rapport with the Celtic supporters, becoming known as a ‘the Holy Goalie’.

And Juranovic is well on his way to making a serious name for himself at the club too, already becoming a fan’s favourite due to his excellent displays on the pitch and fun demeanour off of it.

In fact, he’s even got his own song, which he also discussed earlier today.

Obviously, Juranovic is only starting out at Celtic and there’s a long way to go for him at the club. But this eight months or so has been the perfect beginning with a trophy in the bag and a title push ongoing.

If he can maintain his current form then he’s going to be a key player in this run-in and could be a stalwart for the Bhoys for years to come, given how much he has taken to life in Glasgow.
