Kelechi Iheanacho has kept Celtic’s title hopes alive with that crucial winner against Dundee on Sunday, and it has also got the nod of approval from Taiwo Awoniyi.
Whether it’s Martin O’Neill, Wilfried Nancy or Brendan Rodgers in the dugout, Celtic’s trips to both parts of Dundee this season have been a nightmare.
It seemed as though the champions of Scotland were heading down the same road when the scores were level with ten minutes left on the clock, before Iheanacho’s crucial winner at Dens Park.
The man himself has taken to his Instagram story and posted ‘together we can’, which is a late message regarding what has been unfolding this season, but it’s better late than never.

Is this the worst group of finishers you’ve seen in a Celtic squad?

Taiwo Awoniyi backs Kelechi Iheanacho after his Celtic winner at Dundee
Iheanacho has been a frustrating player this season. During a campaign, when there have been many striking issues, nobody seems to be taking their chances.
Many agree that Iheanacho is the best of a bad bunch, but he can’t play 90 minutes, and that lack of fitness isn’t acceptable.
That’s why Iheanacho has rightfully been called out, but the fact of the matter is, he is producing now, and you are only as good as your last game.
One man who knows Iheanacho better than most is Awoniyi, the Nottingham Forest striker who has shared an international stage with his Nigerian compatriot.
When Iheanacho reacted to his winner on Instagram, Awoniyi responded in the comments section, alongside several others.
- Fulham’s Alex Iwobi: ‘SnrMan!’
- Forest striker Awoniyi: ‘Never in doubt.’
- Coventry star Frank Onyeka: ‘SnrMan.’
