The former Celtic hero’s Arsenal contract continues to run down amid continued Parkhead return rumours.

Kieran Tierney has long been linked with a return to Celtic ever since Arsenal decided to renege of triggering the one-year extension to his current ideal.

Now into the last six months of his Arsenal contract, Tierney is said to want a return to Celtic Park and is willing to take a pay cut to make a Bhoys move happen.

And now, the biggest hint yet has dropped yet that the Arsenal defender is set for a Celtic return with a twist on how the move could affect Alex Valle’s future at Barcelona.

Fabrizio Romano’s update on Kieran Tierney’s Celtic return and the impact on Alex Valle

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Tierney’s return to Celtic is ‘on’ and says that if the move does go through then it can ‘open doors’ for another loan move for Alex Valle.

Romano said on social media channel X, “Exclusive: Como made contact for Alex Valle as new left-back, talks on!

“Understand Kieran Tierney’s move to Celtic can open doors for Alex Valle’s new loan from Barcelona. Como are strongly interested as they see Valle as top talent. Negotiations on.”

With Greg Taylor yet to sign a new Celtic deal Tierney’s return will be welcomed by the vast majority of Celtic supporters.

Alex Valle’s permanent Celtic move?

Could Valle not be tempted by a permanent move to Celtic should Taylor move on? It’s highly unlikely that Celtic could afford him.

Football Transfers say Valle has a minimum fee release clause of €27m [£22.7m] at Barcelona which shows just how much the La Liga giants value him at.

At just 21, Valle clearly has a future at the Catalan club and they seem keen to develop him as much as they can with a view to preparing the youngster for possible first-team football at the Nou Camp.

Valle has impressed in his short spell at Celtic but at that price, it is highly unlikely the Parkhead club will pursue a long-term deal, even if they wanted to.
