Celtic struggled to a draw at Dundee after Tony Docherty’s side battled to a late lead at Dens Park.
Celtic stuttered and stammered against Dundee after the Bhoys surrendered a lead twice only to escape Dens Park with a lucky draw.
Luke McCowan gave Celtic a great start after heading in an early goal to put his team one up in the 5th minute.
However, Celtic were far too passive as Adam Idah and Paulo Bernardo spurned two great chances to put the result to bed after the Irishman fluffed an opportunity from three yards and Bernardo nodded onto the bat with the goal at his mercy.
However, Dundee battled back twice from going behind, took the lead and a late, late penalty saved Celtic’s blushes in the end as the spoils were shared in a thrilling six-goal encounter.
But that didn’t stop Chris Sutton from pointing out the obvious after the final whistle and the Hoops hero’s verdict will resonate well with the Celtic support.

Chris Sutton blasts Celtic players after a ‘great match’ at Dundee
Sutton said on X, “Dundee as gutsy as they come. Well played Tony Doherty and his team. Celtic, too many players off the boil and after Dundee went 3-2 up never really looked like equalising.
“Maybe a valuable point at the end of the season. Fair play to Engels with a cool penalty. Great match.”
Off the top of the head, there were at least four Celtic players not at their best as they struggled to save a draw against a Dundee side who were ravaged by injuries.
Four Celtic players who failed to perform vs Dundee
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty were poor in defence, Paulo Bernardo was posted missing and Adam Idah was largely anonymous before being subbed off in the 61st minute.
However, the performance of Rodgers’ team is not alien to the Hoops support who have watched the Celtic first team struggle to break down defences for weeks now.
The Bhoys left it late against Ross County, were passive against Dundee United and despite taking a 2-0 lead against St Mirren at Celtic Park, only managed to really secure the points after Nicolas Kuhn added a third in the 68th minute.
And let’s not mention the Glasgow Derby.
Look, with the run of fixtures Celtic have had this month poor performances were always bound to happen but with the Scottish Cup at the weekend and a crucial Champions League tie against Young Boys coming up next week, Rodgers needs to spark this team into life or they could be penalised in one, or both, games.
