Kris Boyd is rattled crying about a Ross County vs Celtic VAR decision ‘nobody will want to speak about’

Kris Boyd has been in pain lately as Celtic continue to dominate Scottish football.

The former Rangers man has been hurting this season as Celtic look on course for another treble and his old club stumble around trying to secure second place in the Scottish Premiership table for the fourth season in a row.

On this occasion, Boyd seems to be doubling down after he was laughed at by Chris Sutton after Celtic beat Ross County as the Sky Sports pundit made a VAR claim even the presenter of the show Eilidh Barbour wasn’t buying.

And now, three days on, Boyd continues to cry about an apparent red card decision in Celtic’s win at Ross County and claims no one wants to speak about it.

Kris Boyd doubles down on VAR ‘talking point’ and Celtic’s Alistair Johnston

Boyd reckons Alistair Johnston should have seen red after his challenge gave the Dingwall club a penalty after he barged into the Ross County attacker.

Boyd told Go Ballistic, “Another talking point was the VAR Alistair Johnston challenge at the back post.

“I know my big friend [Chris Sutton], he wasn’t for taking me on there but I think obviously denying a goal-scoring opportunity and no attempt to play the ball, that was interesting shall we say.

“But nobody will want to speak about it we’ll just move on.”

Boyd must be suffering from selective memory as Sutton did not only take him on over his views but the Celtic hero wiped the floor with him as he continues to embarrass himself over a nothing decision.

The apparent red card was also spoken about extensively on BBC Sportscene as Neil McCann’s Celtic analysis was very painful to watch as he couldn’t hide his hurt over the decisions.

Kris Boyd reckons Brendan Rodgers ‘could be onto something’ at Celtic

However, Boyd did notice that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers could have stumbled onto a new tactic after he started Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah in the Hoops’ win.

Boyd continued, “It’s not like Brendan Rodgers [to change his formation], he does like that front three and the two wide players but he might be on something with Idah and Kyogo as well.

“Idah has had his chances. I don’t think he’s really taking them in terms of the games he started but thought his flick for the first goal on Saturday to release Callum McGregor was a bit of quality.

“The more games he plays if he can build up that connection with Kyogo he might just be onto
something especially at home for Celtic when they can say, ‘You know what, we’re going to go with two strikers.”

It’s unlikely that Rodgers will continue to play both strikers when his injury issues ease up as it would mean leaving out either Nicolas Kuhn or Daizen Maeda from his Celtic starting XI.

Both wingers have been lethal this season with 30 goals and 17 assists between them.

Like the application of VAR, Boyd should also leave the Celtic team selection to the people who know what they are talking about.
