Kyle Ure seems to be enjoying life on loan at Ayr United this season.

Ure was sent on loan to Ayr for the season in a bid to give him a regular run of minutes in the first-team.

Managed by Scott Brown, it is the perfect footballing education for a player tipped to be the long-term replacement for Callum McGregor.

His form led to him being called up to the Scotland U21s squad for the October internationals, and Ure even scored in the win against Gibraltar U21s.

Kyle Ure on working with Scott Brown

Brown has already singled out Ure and Jude Bonnar for the way they have settled into life at the Scottish Championship club.

For the 19-year-old, it has been just as beneficial, and he revealed that he has been working on a one-to-one basis to get better.

He told the Daily Record: “It’s been great working for him I got a really good impression when I met him and I felt like it was going to benefit me massively because he played in the same position as me.

“It’s a big help, especially when you consider what he did at Celtic.

“He’s been doing individual work with me to develop me as a player, working with me at heading, defensive work and what he wants from me in possession.

“I’ve played 90 minutes for the majority of the games. The loan move was exactly what I needed to get an introduction to men’s football.”

Kyle Ure’s Celtic dream

Everyone coming through the Celtic academy has the dream of playing for the first-team.

Last season, Ure was the Academy Player of the Year following his impressive displays for the B team and U19s.

This year will be his time to shine at Ayr, but he wants a regular starting spot sooner rather than later.

Speaking to Celtic TV back in May, he said: “It (breaking into the first team) would be everything. Growing up, you want to be a proper football player. You want to be a first-team player.

“Now, at this stage, you’re not too far away. You train with them; you see the quality they’ve got and the intensity that they bring.”
