Kyogo Furuhashi is certainly made a name for himself at Celtic. The Japanese striker has been in red-hot form for the club this season.
With the league cup, SPFL title and a possible treble on the way, Kyogo has certainly played his part, and then some, in helping deliver success to the club.
But from a personal perspective, Kyogo has also won various awards for his performances this season. Celtic’s Top Goalscorer and Player of the Year, the Japanese striker also won the Player’s Player of the Year Award as well as the Scottish Football Writer’s Player of the Year.
And to cap it all off, he received a message of congratulations from Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Twitter.
The tweet said, “Football: Kyogo Furuhashi, a player for Celtic in the Scottish Premiership has been crowned the league’s top scorer.
“In addition to being the top scorer, he also won the League Player of the Year, Scottish Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year and Club Player of the Year 🎉.”
The Celtic striker is certainly gaining plaudits from all directions. With 33 goals to his name, Furuhashi will go into the next season full of confidence and with the belief that he can take that form into the Champions League.
We will certainly need it if we are to improve on our results in Europe’s top competition from this season. Kyogo failed to score in the group stages and will be desperate to put that right.
With this season almost over, the Japanese striker can also look forward to featuring in Japan’s upcoming Kirin Cup after he was called up for the doubleheader against El Salvador and Peru.
But before all that, Kyogo will have his sights firmly set on the Scottish Cup Final on Saturday where he will be hoping to claim his first-ever domestic treble in his career.
