Latest Neil Lennon media interview prompts furious response from Celtic supporters

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has managed to wind up supporters of the club again. And in fairness, they’re not wrong.

I’ve already given my opinion on Lennon’s overnight media interview in the print press on 67 Hail Hail today.

In that article, I argue that Lennon’s latest comments are just further proof Celtic need to make a managerial change as soon as possible.

He’s attempted to play down the failings of this season in his weekend comments, telling outlets this term is not the ‘unmitigated disaster’ that some are making it out to be. [Daily Record]

Respectfully Neil, that’s a load of old nonsense.

The people primarily making it out to be that are passionate Celtic supporters, many of whom have either weighed in hundreds of pounds on season tickets or hard-earned dosh on expensive merchandise. Probably both.

The criticism received by the Celtic team, coaching staff and board has been, for the most part, fair.

Yes, things have gotten a little heated here and there. Tempers have flared. But in the cold light of day, most of our problems this season have been self-inflicted.

By continuing in this state of denial, the manager is only angering those fed up more. It’s creating an increasingly toxic environment around the club.

Believe me, the club will feel the effects of this financially if people at the club don’t start speaking righteous truth.

For now, we can only air our complaints publicly and forcefully.

Hundreds, if not thousands, of Celtic fans have been doing exactly that today, taking to social media to share their thoughts on Lennon’s Sunday interview.

This is just a small sample that captures the mood…
