A statement from the club’s media channels revealed that the midfielder had put pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain at Celtic Park until 2028.
McCowan joined on transfer deadline day in 2024 and has become a valuable squad player the Hoops.
He scored in the extra-time win against St Mirren and is looking forward to continuing his journey with the Bhoys.
I’m just so happy that we got the deal over the line and now I’m able to help the boys for the coming years and be a part of this amazing squad,” McCowan told the Celtic website.

“I think I’ve become a lot more mature in terms of winning and losing, and I’m dealing with a lot of press and media now.
“To be a part of the team as well through winning and losing has been a massive part because nobody likes to lose, but when you do you become closer as a team sometimes.
“We’ve been able to do that, but the highs have been absolutely amazing and hopefully there’s more to come with that.”
As part of his deal, McCowan also has the option to extend his stay by another year.
