As Celtic prepare to face Athletic Club in James Forrest’s testimonial tomorrow night, the club have released pictures that show new summer signing, Maik Nawrocki taking part in training at Lennoxtown.
Nawrocki was officially unveiled by Celtic just less than a week ago but, so far, the Celtic fans haven’t had the opportunity to see the new defender in action.
We were hoping to see the Polish u21 international in action against Wolves at the weekend but a slight injury to his ankle meant that the Celtic fans would need to be patient to see their new man in action.
It seems now that that wait could be over. With less than a week to go until the new season kicks off, Brendan Rodgers may be keen to get some minutes into Nawrocki and tomorrow night, James Forrest’s testimonial could present the perfect opportunity to do that.
The Celtic manager is already on record as saying that he will be using two different teams in the friendly against Athletic Club and if Nawroki makes it through today’s session unscathed, then the likelihood of seeing him in a Celtic jersey tomorrow night will be high.

Nawrocki will undoubtedly be desperate to make his debut for Celtic. The big defender has been at pains all week telling us that he hopes the move to Glasgow will help kickstart his international career.
And Celtic certainly have the platform to do that with the upcoming Champions League campaign, so the sooner he is back in training, the better.
The 22-year-old stopper will be looking to make an instant impression on Brendan Rodgers. He will have a hard task dislodging either Cameron Carter-Vickers or Carl Starfelt for a place in the heart of the Hoops defence but he could do his case no harm if he puts on a good show against the La Liga club.
