As Celtic prepare to face Ross County on Sunday, the manager’s press conferences and interviews are always hot topics prior to the match.

As fans wait to hear on any injury updates or possible hints for team selections, my attention was drawn to Ross County manager, Malky Mackay’s comments on the upcoming game at Dingwall.

Mackay was asked about how he plans to prepare for a Celtic team that is completely dominating Scottish football and his answer was illuminating. This is the ultimate test for his team.

Speaking to Sky Sports about the upcoming tie, Mackay said, “It’s difficult every time we play against a team in the Premier League.

“We’re playing against the champions. Ange’s team has been fantastic and he has been a great addition to Scottish football himself.

“We know the task ahead. We know how difficult it is playing against the top team in the country. We’ve got to make sure we go out there with real belief.

“I thought we did well against them at Parkhead a couple of months ago. You look at the badge, you can’t worry about the badge. You need to play against the players.

“Undoubtedly they are a good team and 60-70 minutes when they will bring on the calvary, they’re just as good. That’s the measure of that team.

“We’ve got to make sure we go out on Sunday, live on TV, that we go out and give a good account of ourselves.”

History on Celtic’s side vs Ross County

Shoild we be concerned about a Celtic slip up? In a word, no. Not if the historical results in this fixture are anything to go by.

Celtic have a very good record against County up at Dingwall and apart from the Anthony Ralston game last season, we have been fairly comfortable against the Highlanders.

Of course, Ange Postecoglou will pay no attention to that and he will prepare as meticulously now as he did the first time he faced Ross County to ensure that the team take all three points back to Glasgow.
