Celtic’s academy side is full of great talent.

Over the years we’ve seen the likes of Kieran Tierney, Callum McGregor and more recently Sean McArdle all come through and play for the first team.

Seeing one of your own wear the green and white is a special feeling but for some of those coming through the ranks at Lennoxtown, their path to the first team means loans elsewhere to get first team football.

Scott Brown has taken Jude Bonnar on loan at Ayr United and former Celtic player Mark Wilson is keen on two other talents to develop.

Wilson has strong connections from his time as a player at Celtic Park and would be entrusted to look after future stars.

The Partick Thistle boss wants two players from the ranks ahead of his team’s Scottish Championship campaign and according to the Daily Record’s transfer column, has his eyes on goalkeeper Josh Clarke and midfielder Kyle Ure.

Clarke would be brought in to act as competition for Lewis Budinauckas whereas Ure would be seen as a starter.

Ure impressed in Celtic’s win against Queens Park and some corners have even suggested he could be McGregor’s long-term replacement.

Celtic youngsters who could also leave on loan

Although the senior Celtic side will have four competitions to balance, Brendan Rodgers has always been keen on having a tight-knit squad.

That means other youngsters we’ve seen play for the first team like Colby Donovan and Francis Turley head out to test their resolve elsewhere.

McArdle could also benefit from playing at a higher level after breaking into the side and defenders like Mitchel Frame could also spend a year away from Glasgow.
