Matt O’Riley has joined in with the chorus of praise for Celtic left-back Greg Taylor after his start to the 2022/23 season.

Taylor has been in dynamite form through the first three matches and was handed the man of the match award live on Sky Sports by Jota, who left viewers in no doubt about his feelings for the Scotland international.

Now O’Riley has similarly praised the 24-year-old, declaring he has really improved his game over the pre-season months, from what we saw last term.

Speaking to Celtic TV, the midfielder said: “Greg’s been very good throughout the whole pre-season, as well, he’s been very, very consistent.

“I think he’s raised his level from last season. He was already playing at a very good level. He’s now showing signs of being a real mature left-back now, which is great to see. I’m really happy for him and hopefully he can push on more.”

Taylor will be eager to continue his impressive form against Hearts today, and O’Riley is also looking forward to the challenge.

The former MK Dons man continued: “Every game is difficult in its own way. Again, we approach every game the same way, we’re not really thinking about Hearts in terms of them as a team.

“It’s about what we can do and what we can control. We’re going to bring our game the Celtic way to the pitch and the rest should take care of itself, hopefully.”

Hearts visit unbeaten in league action so far this season and will be eager to show they can mix at the top of the table.

But with Celtic pushing for a points gap over Rangers and the team looking so motivated and sharp in recent weeks, the home fans are certainly expectant of a strong performance and all three points.
