Celtic are ready for matchday eight against Aston Villa in the Champions League this evening.
Brendan Rodgers has his side prepared following their final training session yesterday morning as top eight remains an outside possibility for the Hoops.
Other results would have to go Celtic’s way for that to happen and it might seem impossible, but it is still mathematically doable.
Rodgers won’t concern himself with that, though, having come through a nerve-shredding Young Boys clash last week.
That 1-0 victory at Parkhead was enough to guarantee a knockout playoff spot and that, for the boss, is enough to be satisfied with right now.
Villa, on the other hand, are determined to finish in the automatic qualifying spots and they know they need a positive result following Unai Emery’s rage at defeat to AS Monaco last week.

Matty Cash has ‘watched a lot of Celtic’
Defender Matty Cash admits that the Premier League outfit know what they need to do in the Battle of Britain tonight and he feels his side are in the right frame of mind to get the job done.
But the Polish international, 27, reckons that – in part – comes down to the opponents Celtic being a “massive” club and that brings a pressure of its own.
Cash insists he has been able to watch plenty of Celts throughout the years and he is excited to come up against the Scottish Premiership giants.
“Celtic is a massive club with such history, especially in the Champions League,” he told the Villa club website.
“It’s a tough challenge and we know what they can do. I’ve watched a lot of their games.
“Hopefully it will be another special night.”
Cash acknowledges the fixture in Birmingham is set to be a “big occasion” against Rodgers’ outfit.
And it is one he is relishing.
Cash on the ‘big occasion’ vs Celtic in Champions League
“It’s going to be a big occasion, another Champions League night at Villa Park,” Cash said.
“We want to get the win. We were disappointed not to get the three points in Monaco and we’ve got a chance to put it right with a victory on Wednesday and hopefully qualify.
“We started really well in the Champions League and the atmosphere around Villa Park was crazy, it helped us massively.
“We’ve got another opportunity against Celtic. We’ve put ourselves in a great position and hopefully we can finish it off.”
