Celtic’s interest in Tawanda Maswanhise has been the talk of the January transfer window as deadline day comes into full swing.

So far, Celtic have rejected a bid for Arne Engels as the Belgian attracts attention from Nottingham Forest with a £17.3m bid.

Celtic are set to announce Junior Adamu after Freiburg allowed the striker to leave the club on loan this January.

Is Tawanda Maswanhise Celtic quality?

However, it’s Celtic’s interest in Tawanda Maswanhise that comes to the fore after the Parkhead club learned Motherwell want €3m for their talented star.

But as rumours suggest Anderlecht want the Celtic target, journalist Graeme McGarry shares Motherwell’s transfer stance on Maswanhise.

Tawanda Maswanhise ‘not for sale’ as journalist gives update on Celtic target

The €3m (£2.5m) price on Maswanhise is one that is easily affordable for Celtic, but it seems that even if Martin O’Neill convinced the board to stump up the cash, Motherwell wouldn’t be willing to sell.

McGarry said on X, “Despite a few reports of interest this morning and plenty of speculation, my understanding is that Motherwell are firm on Tawanda Maswanhise staying at Fir Park in this window.

“Too late to source a replacement, so not for sale.”

Tawanda Maswanhise’s incredible Motherwell record is what Celtic need

Maswanhise has been on fire for Motherwell this season as Celtic struggle to add goals to their game as the title run-in continues.

The Motherwell winger has made 29 appearances for the Fir Park club and can’t seem to stop scoring.

At just 23, Maswanhise has 17 caps for Zimbabwe and has two goals at international level.

Celtic know that the winger has the better of the defences in Scotland so should the Parkhead club test Motherwell’s resolve with a firm bid?
