‘My fear’ – BBC Rangers pundit’s brutal Celtic message to Russell Martin after Ibrox struggle vs Alloa

Celtic are already four points clear at the top of the league and, after the Falkirk win, looking like they are finding their groove.

A stuttering start to the league defence saw Celtic take care of St Mirren as the stubborn Paisley club dug in their heels in a 1-0 defeat at Celtic Park.

Against Aberdeen, Celtic looked a bit more polished as they beat Jimmy Thelin’s side 2-0 up at Pittodrie.

And then, in the League Cup on Friday night, Celtic battered Falkirk as Brendan Rodgers’ side looked slick and full of attacking intent at Parkhead.

Compare and contrast that to the other side of the city where Rangers have struggled against Motherwell, Dundee and League One’s Alloa, the Ibrox club’s performances have set the ‘fear’ into BBC pundit Rory Loy.

Rangers warned of a Celtic ‘thumping’ by BBC man

With the Glasgow Derby just under two weeks’ away, Celtic travel to Ibrox to face Rangers with their form starting to improve.

And after watching Rangers struggle to beat Alloa in the League Cup, Loy has shared his fear about the upcoming Celtic game.

Loy told The Scottish Football Podcast [20m 28s], “I thought they looked like they missed John Souter today, who is probably a little bit more commanding and demands a little bit more defensively.

“In terms of Club Brugge, when they come here on Tuesday, Panathinaikos had umpteen chances against Rangers.

“They’ve done magnificently well, Rangers, it’s not all negative, to get to this point, but my fear would be if Club Brugge turn up and Rangers don’t fix this, it might not be Club Brugge home or away, you know, Celtic coming up, they could take a thumping if they keep performing the way they do defensively in one of these big games.”
