New date for Ange Postecoglou Celtic arrival; Kennedy latest

Ange Postecoglou will take Celtic training for the first time on Thursday, it has been reported by The Scottish Sun.

The club updated supporters on Friday after the new Celtic boss came through the initial stages of his required quarantine. He met in person with Dominic McKay in London before attending the England v Scotland fixture.

It was thought he would be at Lennoxtown in the early stages of this week. It has now become apparent he won’t be on the ground until Thursday.

Celtic have confirmed he is due to take training at some stage before the weekend.

John Kennedy was pictured arriving at the training centre today, so he is definitely in place to guide the team through the next few days. First-team stars Christopher Jullien and Albian Ajeti were also spotted driving into Lennoxtown.

Ange Postecoglou and Celtic will be off to Wales

The Bhoys will train in Scotland until early July before heading to world-class facilities in Wales.

The squad will play a number of pre-season friendlies in advance of next month’s massive Champions League qualifier. There will be matches against Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton Athletic and Bristol City.

Many Celtic players are still on international duty with Scotland. Odsonne Edouard is also likely to be part of the French Olympics squad for matches in Japan next month.

With Kristoffer Ajer also confirming he wants to leave the club this summer, it’s unclear if he will take part in any qualifiers.

Postecoglou will have the bare bones of a squad to work with on Thursday, then, but it could be an opportunity for some fringe players and youngsters to impress.
