Nottingham Forest close to decision on Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou’s future

Ange Postecoglou must yearn for the days of his Celtic success after the hounding he took at Tottenham and now appears to be getting at Nottingham Forest.

Postecoglou was a huge success at Celtic and, despite what some might say, winning the Europa League will have always have the Australian regarded as a legend at Spurs.

But at Nottingham Forest, the former Celtic boss is coming under some serious pressure after Postecoglou watched his side lose for the fifth time this season at Newcastle United.

The pressure is such that after just seven games in charge, it seems that the Premier League club are getting closer to deciding whether or not to sack Postecoglou as the Celtic icon’s future hangs in the balance at Forest.

Nottingham Forest identify ‘long-term’ replacement for Celtic hero Postecoglou

According to the Daily Mail, Nottingham Forest are close to making a decision on whether or not to sack Postecoglou during this international break.

The report claims that the Premier League club’s owner Evangelos Marinakis could look to appoint Fulham boss Marco Silva.

However, there is a caveat. Marinakis is unlikely to make a move for Silva until the end of the season which may mean Postecoglou gets a stay of execution.

Bizarrely, the report then goes on to say it is ‘unclear when – or if – Forest will call time on the tenure of Postecoglou’, so who knows what is really going to happen in the immediate future.

Postecoglou has won trophies at every level of football he has managed and after winning the Europa League with Spurs, Forest fans must have been hopeful the ex-Celtic man could replicate that at the Tricky Trees.
