Wilfried Nancy has to start winning games of football pretty quickly, or the doors will close in on him at Celtic.
It has been the worst possible start for Celtic’s new boss, who, after just over a week in charge, is already being questioned about everything and anything.
The main point of discussion is Nancy’s system, and how playing three at the back, with wing-backs, and crowding the final third, just isn’t working, especially after changing the strong work Martin O’Neill did.

Peter Grant on Wilfried Nancy’s use of wing-backs
Speaking on Go Radio, Peter Grant shared that he’s ‘led to believe’ that Nancy wants to play ‘wingers’ as his wing-backs.
That has been displayed by his first few games in charge, including starting Sebastian Tounekti and Yang during Celtic’s defeat to Hearts and AS Roma.
Things slightly changed against St Mirren at Hampden, with Kieran Tierney deployed down the left-hand side, but Grant is on edge with what Nancy wants to do.
The Hoops legend feels Celtic don’t have the players, or wingers in this case, to do what he is asking them to do.
Either way, Grant passionately pleaded for Nancy to use Tierney and Colby Donovan as wing-backs because they are ‘the best crossers at the football club.’
“This manager, I am led to believe, wants to play wingers as his wing-backs,” shared Grant. “Celtic haven’t got those types of wingers.
“For me, the two wing-backs that are crying out for Celtic, at this moment in time, and he did it on Sunday with Kieran Tierney.
“But on the opposite side would be Colby Donovan. For one reason, they are two of the best crossers at the football club – that’s what you have to adjust. Forget the system; he is the best at that now.”
