The Celtic support made their point to the board very clear at Kilmarnock today.

The travelling Celtic supporters protested and displayed banners prior to kick-off at Rugby Park to send a message to those in charge at the club.

Celtic’s late win at Kilmarnock in a game that produced very little talking points as Daizen Maeda showed that he still has a job to do as the main striker.

Despite the elation of the late Rugby Park win, the reverberations of the Celtic fan action at Kilmarnock continues, and Peter Grant has sent a message to the Parkhead board that they simply must heed.

Celtic board told by Peter Grant the club belongs to the fans

Grant spoke passionately about Celtic’s ‘cowardly’ actions towards Brendan Rodgers after a club ‘insider’ briefed against the manager last week.

And in the run up to the fan protest this weekend, the Celtic hero sent a message to the board that they must never forget.

Grant told The Go Radio Football Show, “Passion and care is what you hear from Tom [a Celtic fan]. You know, and that’s what Celtic supporters are built on.

“Nobody will ever change that, no matter who the owners are, whatever. That’s what the club is built on. That’s the foundation it is built on.

“Passion and care. And that’s what they want to continue. And it’s their club.

“Doesn’t matter how much money you put in. It’s their club. And it will never be taken away from them.”

Celtic fan action vs Kilmarnock puts the spotlight on the Parkhead board

Whilst no Celtic fan expected an immediate reaction from today’s protest, the amount of pressure and publicity it garnered was incredible.

The hype this week surrounding the protest amplified the deep feelings Celtic supporters have against the board and the fact it was live on Sky Sports sent the message far and wide.

With the fans looking forward to the next game at Celtic Park against Hibs, there is likely to be more action organised in front of a sell-out Parkhead crowd.
