Celtic will be on the lookout for a new manager in the summer.
One man who could jump back into the managerial ring, after leaving Liverpool during the summer of 2024, is Jurgen Klopp.
One thing is for sure: Klopp won’t be Celtic’s next manager, but there are suggestions that Real Madrid, after they sacked Xabi Alonso, could be his next destination.
If that’s the case, Klopp will break a trend that has followed him throughout his managerial career, so much so that Anfield legend Phil Thompson joked about not wanting the German to join the champions of Scotland.

You’ll Never Walk Alone is perhaps the most famous anthem/song, whatever title you want to give it, in world football, and it has followed Klopp wherever he has gone.
Whether that’s at Mainz or most recently at Liverpool.
Speaking on No Tippy Tappy Football, Thompson brought up that topic, and how he ‘hopes’ Klopp ‘doesn’t go to Celtic‘, even there is ‘something there, with that connection.
“You looked, and you realise, when he was played for Mainz and became manager of Mainz in Germany, that anthem was You’ll Never Walk Alone,” said Thompson.
“When he went to Dortmund, their anthem was You’ll Never Walk Alone. And then he came to Liverpool, obviously, with our anthem being You’ll Never Walk Alone.
“So it seemed as though it was written in the stars. I just hope he doesn’t go to Celtic next. But you know, there was something there, with that connection.”

Liverpool were the first club to adopt the song ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ in the 1960s, before Celtic followed suit, and haven’t stopped since.
It has brought an extra edge to proceedings, including making European nights at Parkhead even more special.
