Kyogo Furuhashi is finding life after Celtic extremely difficult.

Since leaving the club in the January transfer window, Kyogo has struggled to make an impact at Rennes, and the Celtic hero has spent more time off the pitch than on it.

The 30-year-old striker was benched again this weekend and brought on with just seven minutes to go when Rennes were 4-1 up against Le Havre away from home but only had two touches of the ball.

With just 120 minutes of football in six appearances for Rennes, Kyogo is now starting to find out that the grass isn’t always greener away from Celtic.

And speaking about his troubles, Rennes manager Habib Beye tells the Celtic treble-winner exactly where he stands at his new club.

Habib Beye is positive Celtic hero Kyogo can make an impact at Rennes

Habib Baye told Ouest France, “He is a player of associations, mobile, who needs to evolve with a point of attachment, we are working on that.

“Kyogo is in the group, he’s coming home, even if he doesn’t have the minutes he would hope for. After that, I make choices based on a starting eleven and then on game situations.

“This does not mean that he does not meet my expectations, nor that he is a bad player. We know his qualities, and I am sure that he will be able to show them.

“Against Lille, Kyogo had lived a difficult moment by removing his shoulder, we had to look around this problem, we are following this at the club level.”

What’s been said about Kyogo’s Celtic exit and possible return to Paradise

There have been rumours that Kyogo could leave Rennes this summer as the Japanese striker struggles in the French top tier.

However, would it be wise if the talisman returned to Celtic Park?

Former Rangers defender Alan Hutton said he wouldn’t take Kyogo back after he questioned the former Celtic striker’s reason for leaving the Hoops in the first place.

Andy Walker believes ‘Celtic would be open for business‘ should the fan favourite intimate that he wanted to return to Glasgow.

Whatever happens over the next few months, whether Kyogo returns to the club or not, Celtic fans will keep a close eye on his career and hope that he can regain the incredible goalscoring form that made him a hero in Paradise.
