Former Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers has not ruled out a return to Celtic to replace Ange Postecoglou.

As discussed last week, it seemed like the former Double Treble-winning manager was looking to take a break from football after being dismissed by Leicester City earlier this season.

But it seems that may not be the case now according to the Daily Record. The report claims that Rodgers will ‘not rule anything out’. On top of that, as well as the club looking at various targets to replace Ange Postecoglou, the report also says Dermot Desmond is a ‘huge admirer’ of the former Celtic manager after what he achieved at the club.

There is little doubt that Rodgers is an excellent manager. His first two seasons at Celtic produced two trebles which included the famous Invincibles season.

And going into his third year at the club, Rodgers had already sealed the league cup, created a healthy lead at the top of the table and led us into the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup before leaving to join Leicester City on the 26th of February 2019. [BBC]

This is certainly a candidate that has split the opinion of the Celtic fans. Whilst every supporter will concede that Rodgers is an elite-level coach, many still can’t forgive him for the way he left the club.

Whilst reports circulated yesterday that Celtic will look to make an approach for Enzo Maresca after the conclusion of last night’s Champions League Final, will this report from the Daily Record give the Celtic board something to consider?

Possibly, but as each day passes, links to new names emerge so whilst Rodgers may not have completely written off a return to Celtic Park, it does seem as if the board are doing all they can to cast the net far and wide to find the successor to Ange Postecoglou.
