Celtic are undoubtedly going to strengthen the squad this summer. Ange Postecoglou has already stated that the club have plans in place to not only add to the team but is also preparing for offers for some of our key players.
But could Ardon Jashari be one of the players that the Celtic manager is looking to bring in? The Daily Record says the 20-year-old Swiss midfielder is linked to the club this season and now he has addressed the rumours surrounding his future.
Jashari said [Daily Record], “Right now I play for FC Luzern. Then I am going on a short holiday until the Euros with the Under 21s. Then we will see what happens after that.
“To move abroad is not so easy and I don’t want to commit myself to one particular country at the moment. What I would say is if the project is right, then the league is not relevant.”
And what better project to join than Ange Postecoglou’s at Celtic? The Hoops manager has been building a team at the club over the past two seasons that have been absolutely dominant domestically.
The Celtic manager is keen to progress the club in Europe next season in the Champions League and that is something that Jashari would be very interested in.
At Luzern, Jashari will compete in the Europa Conference League next season should he remain at the club. The Swiss side enters the competition at the second qualifying round stage due to their fourth-placed finish in the Swiss Super League.
But automatic Champions League group football is where every player wants to ply their trade and that would appeal hugely to the Swiss international.
Jashari still has two years left to run on his contract and with a price of £5m being floated around, he is well within Celtic’s budget should our reported interest in the midfielder turn to fruition.
