Former Celtic boss, Ronny Deila has praised the Celtic support for the atmosphere they brought to Paradise during his tenure as the Parkhead gaffer.
Comparing the fans at his current club Standard Liege to Celtic’s, not for the first time, the former Hoops boss paid tribute to the Celtic support.
Deila said, “Celtic have more supporters. There are ten million fans who support this club. It’s almost a religion there. It’s a big family and I feel the same at Standard.

“Which is a good thing because it feels like we’re accomplishing something together. For a league match, Celtic Park is calm, which is not the case in the big European matches.

Ronny won two titles and one league cup during his two-year stint at the club. He also took Celtic to the last 32 of the Europa League against Inter Milan in his first season.
Celtic were brave in the first leg. After conceding two early goals, we clawed our way back into the game with a quick double from Stuart Armstrong and a Campagnaro O.G.

Inter took the lead just on the stroke of half time and a last-minute equaliser from John Guidetti meant the Hoops headed to the San Siro deadlocked at 3-3. Celtic were eventually knocked out by Inter Milan in the second leg 4-3 on aggregate after losing 1-0.
But that night at Celtic Park, the atmosphere was incredible. Especially when the last-minute equaliser hit the back of the net.
The Celtic supporters are famed for their colour and intimidating atmosphere at Parkhead and it is good to see that we still hold a special place in Deila’s heart after all these years.
