Celtic’s transfer business is still causing plenty of conversation.
The summer window may have finished over a month ago, but after Brendan Rodgers’ squad was left incomplete, fans have been calling out the Celtic board.
Kyogo Furuhashi, Adam Idah and Nicolas Kuhn have all been sold without forthcoming replacements through the course of 2025.
Celtic fan protests have taken place in stadiums, with relations with the board at an all-time low. Things are uncertain going into January.
And for ex-Scotland striker and Celtic fan Ross McCormack, there is one key reason why they could struggle to sign players in January.
Ross McCormack on Celtic trying to sign players in January
Rodgers has plenty on his plate before the turn of the year, and the club would have to learn from previous mistakes if they are to even have bids accepted before the last week of the window.

But with Rodgers’ contract situation still unresolved, McCormack voiced his concerns over whether players will be sold on a move to Celtic Park.
The Hoops boss is on the final year of his deal, which he has publicly promised to fulfill. But planning for beyond this season becomes difficult with uncertainty going on.
Asked whether the situation with Rodgers needs clarified early in the season, McCormack said on Clyde Superscoreboard: “I don’t think they can do it before the January window.
“If you’re a player, would you be coming to work under Brendan Rodgers if you know fine well that he’s leaving in the summer?
“I don’t know. I’d be interested to see who he thinks are his biggest challenger this year between Hearts and Rangers.”
Where are Celtic at with Brendan Rodgers’ contract situation?
Rodgers has said that he is open to staying at Celtic under the right conditions. What we don’t know is what those conditions are.
They can be guessed at, however. The Parkhead boss also said that he is not the man to ‘maintain’ the club’s position – he is only here to push it forward.
Those comments, made in the summer, were revealing. Ambition is clearly something that he and the Hoops board will have to agree on.
But the summer transfer window will undoubtedly have done more harm than good – not least after the ‘cowardly action’ of a Celtic insider who briefed against Rodgers in the media.
