Scott Brown has put Premier League fans in their place perfectly after explaining why Celtic would survive in England’s top flight.
The age-old debate about where Celtic and Rangers would finish in the Premier League returned again when the Hoops legend sat down in a roundtable with several English supporters.
Brown appeared on Midnite sports to do so, where he explained why Glasgow’s two clubs have what it takes to survive in the self-proclaimed ‘best league in the world.’

How would Celtic fare in the Premier League if they were in it?

Faced against fans who seemingly knew very little about Scottish football, Brown perfectly explained the size and support of Celtic and Rangers make them an attractive prospect for anyone to join, and that the finances received from competing south of the border would take them to the next level.
“Celtic and Rangers would compete in the Premier League. They wouldn’t just go down straight away,” Brown said.
“People underestimate how big they are, the fanbase and the pressure that comes with it. Financially, they’d be fine. They’d be able to compete with teams in that league.”
He added that their experience of facing big sides in the Champions League and Europa League would also stand them in good stead, replying: “You’re underestimating them if you think they’d struggle that much.
“I’m not saying they’re going to win it, but they’re not getting relegated either. They’d be mid-table, comfortably mid-table.”
Premier League fans cannot compute how Celtic would fare
Those who are fans of Premier League clubs seem to struggle with the idea of understanding how both Glasgow clubs would come in and upset the top order quicker than they realise.
This isn’t a situation similar to Cardiff City and Swansea City being in the English pyramid; the Hoops have fans all over the world.
Parkhead would sell out every week, and probably require an expansion, while even more high-profile players would be keen to join.
