Tounekti has opened up for the first time about the disgraceful scenes at Ibrox after a penalty shoot-out saw Celtic beat Rangers in the Scottish Cup.
And now, Tounekti has admitted that he ‘just ran’ when he saw Rangers fans charging 200 yards from the Copland Road stand towards the Celtic supporters celebrating at the Broomloan end.

The scenes took the shine off what was a fine win as the Tunisian winger admits that he ‘just ran’ when the Rangers fans charged onto the Ibrox pitch.
Tounekti told the Daily Record, “The game was something special. We won on penalties and then I noticed that our fans came out to celebrate with us.
“Then I just saw that the Rangers fans also made their way onto the pitch. After that, the players ran into the dressing room. There were nasty scenes.
“I didn’t really have time to think about it. I just ran in and then you could see in the pictures afterwards that it didn’t look good. It wasn’t good.”

As of today, Police Scotland and the SFA are investigating the Ibrox scenes as they try to establish why the Glasgow Derby was allowed to descend into chaos.
Celtic must ask questions of the Ibrox security measures as the number of police outside the ground seemed disproportionate to that inside the stadium.
Rangers and Celtic have both made statements but until the investigations are completed by the relevant authorities, both clubs need to sit tight for now.
