The hype train has started at Rangers after Celtic slipped up again in the Glasgow derby on Sunday.
It’s a case of rinse and repeat, as Celtic edge towards another Premiership title and the Treble, including how Brendan Rodgers has another loud opposition dressing room to deal with.
This time, Barry Ferguson is in the dugout and he is seeking a full-time job at Rangers after replacing the sacked Philippe Clement last month.
Nobody is going to argue that Celtic deserved nothing from the Rangers match because it was a very poor performance.
Even the absence of Callum McGregor, as well as Auston Trusty and Liam Scales, can’t be used as an excuse and the Ibrox clash after the split is going to be even more interesting now.
But with calls for Ferguson to get the full-time Rangers job, Simon Jordan dropped a few truth bombs about where they are compared to Celtic.

It has been well-documented that the San Francisco 49ers want to buy Rangers, so there could be a lot of change in the Ibrox boardroom in the summer.
But Simon Jordan warned Rangers not to get too excited by their recent result and performances because there isn’t much difference to what Clement produced.
The former Crystal Palace owner also added the stark reality that Rangers are ‘massively behind’ Celtic, as he told talkSPORT.
“I would like to keep a calm head and look at it objectively,” said Jordan about if he would give Ferguson the Rangers job. “This is not a short-term bump you are looking at. This is a long-term appointment.
“You made an appointment that didn’t seem to have a great deal of football thinking, in terms of football management thinking, because his football management credentials aren’t high. His win record at the two clubs he managed was low. There was no indication that he could manage Rangers.
“But the dynamic of him being a Rangers man and feeling that the fans might have been disillusioned, demoralised and slightly disenfranchised. Now you have got them back into a zone.
“But the results are the same. If they go and beat Dundee, that would be great, because after they beat Celtic last time out, they didn’t get a result the following game. They have done nothing more than Clement did. The issue is that they are still massively behind Celtic in the league.”
Will Brendan Rodgers change things up?
The fact of the matter is that Rangers will continue to press high and stop Celtic from playing out from the back.
Rodgers’ side will have all of the possession, but cause more damage to themselves than their rivals, so will the Celtic manager change things up for the next meeting?
Fans would like to see a different approach, because whilst the trophies are going to be delivered, it still doesn’t mean that these performances should be accepted.
