Celtic Park is going to be rocking on Wednesday against Dundee.

The Celtic supporters are going to provide Martin O’Neill with a much-deserved send-off, and many will be glad that his final game in charge will be at home, and not on the road, as it was first expected to be at Easter Road.

Either way, on Tuesday, as Celtic prepare to face Dundee, a team that beat the champions of Scotland during the reverse fixture when Brendan Rodgers was in charge.

O’Neill took charge of his final training session, and the Sky cameras were present to watch the Hoops legend in action.

Martin O’Neill takes charge of his final training session as the Celtic manager

O’Neill was in conversation with his coaching staff at Lennoxtown, as the Celtic players were put through their paces on the other side of the pitch.

Gordon Duncan then shared that he had already spoken to Celtic’s interim coach earlier in the day.

The Sky Sports reporter stated that O’Neill joked to him in reception that he is ‘hanging on in there for one more game.’

And that is now officially the case because Wilfried Nancy will be unveiled after the Dundee match, and then this first game in charge will be Celtic’s top-of-the-table clash against Hearts.

“He (O’Neill) made his way onto the training surface not too long ago,” said Duncan. “A final catch-up with the coaching staff.

“Then, as we said, surely, the final training session against Dundee tomorrow.

“Now, remember, it was the end of last week, we were here, and Martin O’Neill said the Hibs game away at Easter Road. He was the one who said that would be his ‘final game in charge.’

“Then he appeared on matchday and revealed he had taken a call. There had been a delay with the appointment of the new manager, and he was going to have to stay a little bit longer.

“Such are the ways here, Celtic tend to keep their cards close to their chest, so the club itself hasn’t really provided the updates. It’s Martin O’Neill who is providing them.

“He joked when he passed us in the reception not so long ago that he is ‘hanging on in there for one more game.’
