Hyunjun Yang was Celtic’s man-of-the-match in the 5-2 win over St Mirren.
The South Korean winger is enjoying a rich vein of form coming off the Celtic bench in recent games and in the Bhoys’ win over St Mirren, Yang was electric.
Brendan Rodgers picked a strong Celtic starting XI to face a St Mirren side who, just last week, beat Rangers in their own backyard for the first time since 1991.
In the win, Hyunjun Yang came off the bench to steal the show as he nabbed two goals and an assist, and at full-time, Sky Sports’ cameras caught a nice touch of class from struggling Celtic teammate Adam Idah.

Adam Idah embraces Hyunjun Yang after Celtic’s win at St Mirren
Idah has been struggling at Celtic over recent weeks as the Republic of Ireland striker finds himself playing second fiddle to Daizen Maeda for that lone striker role.
However, despite drawing yet another blank in Paisley, Idah still found it in himself to offer Yang a touching moment at full-time on the Celtic winger fully deserved.
It was great to see Idah smiling again as recently, the big striker has not been looking happy at Celtic.
The stats behind Hyunjun Yang’s devastating Celtic cameo vs St Mirren
Brought on in the 65th minute, Yang was in devastating form in Paisely as the 22-year-old outshone every Celtic player on the pitch.
So, with that in mind, here are the stats as rated by Fotmob as Yang helped Celtic comfortably beat St Mirren at the SMISA Stadium:
- Rating: 9.1
- Minutes played: 25
- Goals: 2
- Assists: 1
- Total shots: 3
- Accurate passes: 15/17 (88%)
- Chances created: 2
- Shots on target: 2/3 (67%)
- Blocked shots: 1
- Touches: 23
- Touches in opposition box: 5
Yang is clearly growing in confidence and is starting to look like a serious player under Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.
If he can continue this fine form for the rest of the season, the Celtic winger will win over his doubters as there have been many over his time at the club.
