Spanish media laud Celtic for behind the scenes work to help Alex Valle settle at Parkhead

Alex Valle arrived at Celtic from Barcelona in the summer on a year-long loan as Brendan Rodgers looked to bolster the left-back position at the club.

For too long Greg Taylor has been holding the fort on his own and has been doing an excellent job for Celtic without much cover or backup.

But with the arrival of Valle, Celtic now have a reliable fullback who looks more than capable of not only covering for Taylor but also challenging him for his first-team spot.

And it seems that the on-loan Barcelona man’s form could be down to what Celtic did immediately after Valle landed at Glasgow Airport as he started his year-long adventure in Paradise.

Spanish press label Celtic ‘exemplary’ for treatment of Alex Valle

A report from a Spanish media outlet, Sport, has detailed exactly what Celtic did for Valle when he arrived in Glasgow.

The report [print edition page 14] said “The left-back’s adaptation is going smoothly. In four days, as soon as he arrived, he had a car, a flat and medical insurance. Celtic is exemplary in this respect.

“Alex arrived already with the lesson learned with English and, in fact, is not even taking classes in the Scottish capital.

“Against Atalanta, he started for the first time in his career in a Champions League match. He did so, moreover, with an ankle injury. But he wanted to be there for a historic match for them.”

So it seems that because Celtic did such a great job for Valle, the young defender played through the pain barrier to help the club earn a superb draw in Atalanta.

Alex Valle’s impressive Celtic form

The young Spaniard has been impressing the Celtic fans covering for Greg Taylor. Valle has started and finished Celtic’s win over Ross County, the draws with Aberdeen and Atalanta and the 3-0 victory over Motherwell.

It’s fair to say that Valle is slotting in and coping well playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe where the demand is to win every single game.

If Rodgers is able to, I don’t think many Celtic fans would disagree at looking to bring Valle to the club on a permanent basis as he does look like a bright prospect with a great future ahead of him.
