The Celtic board are already very unpopular with the fanbase, but they are far less popular now.
It’s all going wrong at Celtic, losing four games on the bounce under Wilfried Nancy, as the powers that be have a big call to make after the clash against Aberdeen on Sunday.
Nancy will be in charge of Celtic’s Premiership clash against Aberdeen at Parkhead, despite suggestions he could be sacked, but will that still be the case if he loses again?
Regardless of what happens, Steve Nicol thinks quite a lot of the blame needs to lie at the door of those sitting in the boardroom.

The Celtic board have set up Wilfried Nancy to ‘fail’
Even before Nancy could set foot into Lennoxtown, the talk was around whether he should come in straight away because of the difficulty of the fixtures and how little time he would have on the training ground.
But Celtic decided that his first game in charge would be against Hearts, and Nicol thinks it’s the board who are at fault for this mess.
The Liverpool legend made it clear on ESPN that the Celtic board have set up Nancy to ‘fail’, and he shouldn’t have taken charge of the games against Hearts, AS Roma and St Mirren.
The problem with all of this is that Martin O’Neill was in the dugout, winning games and bringing the feel-good factor back to the club.
Everyone wanted a romantic ending. O’Neill to lift the League Cup trophy at Hampden against St Mirren, and then allow the new era to begin.
But now, opting against using common sense has turned into a nightmare, and you sense that time is coming to an end for Nancy, even if Nicol thinks a lot of the blame lies with those in charge.
“In terms of the (Celtic) board, they have set up Nancy to fail,” said Nicol. “That’s what they have done.
“Probably the most important week in recent history at the club. Playing Hearts, who are at the top of the league. They are playing Roma. Playing a cup final.
“You have had Martin O’Neill, who has absolutely calmed everything down. Anybody who knows anything about football would know that a new manager walking into any team is going to cause a little bit of turmoil until they figure out who wants what.
“But yet this guy has been thrown in. Thrown in with the wolves, and say, ‘right, you are going to have to beat Hearts, who are top of the league and flying. Then one of the toughest games you have had in how many years in Roma. Then you have a cup final.’
“Then, all of a sudden, they look disjointed. Of course, they are disjointed, because the manager is coming in asking the players to do things Martin O’Neill didn’t ask them to do. It’s daft.”
