Wilfried Nancy heads into what looks like his most important weekend since he arrived as the new Celtic manager.

The Frenchman has had a disastrous start to his Celtic career after the Bhoys’ defeat at Dundee United meant Nancy had lost his first four games as the new manager.

Celtic fans were furious at Nancy at full time inside Tannadice and made it perfectly clear that he should be relieved of his duties.

But after just four games in charge, is that entirely fair on the former Columbus Crew boss? Celtic hero Chris Sutton delivers his thoughts and shares what he thinks should happen if the Hoops lose to Aberdeen on Sunday.

How many more games are you going to give Wilfried Nancy?

Chris Sutton says Wilfried Nancy’s position is ‘untenable’ if Celtic lose to Aberdeen

Celtic’s next fixture against Aberdeen is the ultimate must-win game for Nancy. A fifth defeat in a row, especially at Parkhead, would further fuel the calls to remove him from the managerial position.

And that’s exactly the thoughts of Sutton who takes ‘no great pleasure’ in saying this about the Celtic manager.

Sutton wrote in the Daily Record, “I genuinely can’t quite believe I’m saying it after just four matches in charge, but if Wilfried Nancy makes it five-in-a-row against Aberdeen his position will be untenable.

“That sounds slightly ridiculous and it gives me no pleasure in saying it.

“People outside Scotland can’t get their heads around it but this is the reality in Glasgow. Celtic managers have to win games – simple as that.

“It’s been a disastrous start for the Frenchman and the problem has already got to a stage where you have to wonder how long it can go on.”

Well, if Celtic lose on Sunday, not too long Chris.

Celtic’s tough run of fixtures after Aberdeen

Nancy needs to win against Aberdeen if he has any hope of holding onto his job at Celtic. Because after this, the Frenchman faces three tough away fixtures:

And even at that, Nancy cannot afford to lose any those either. Looking at the football Nancy is producing right now, it’s unlikely Celtic will win all these next four fixtures.

So any further dropped points mean that not only will winning the title become extremely difficult, but there is a big chance that finishing second may not be a possibility.
