Former Celtic striker, Moussa Dembele has been approached by Saudi Arabain club, Al Ettifaq according to Italian transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano. The Saudi club have recently hired former Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard as their manager.
The Frenchman is still a free agent after leaving Lyon when his contract expired at the end of the season. Dembele has been the subject of plenty of speculation over recent weeks and just last night, 67 Hail Hail discussed how the former Treble winner was still on the lookout for a new club.
But now, it seems that the former Hoops striker’s search for a new club may not be too far away. Romano took to Twitter to post this update tonight:
Dembele was a thorn in Rangers’ side during his time at Celtic. In ten games against the Ibrox club, Dembele netted seven goals. Those goals included a Glasgow Derby debut hattrick and assist at Celtic Park in September 2016 where the Bhoys defeated Rangers 5-1. [Transfermarkt]
And not only was he deadly in front of goal, he was also not averse to setting up his teammates to score against our Glasgow rivals as he created four assists in his ten appearances. The Frenchman was undefeated in all his appearances against Rangers.

Dembele was a key central figure in helping Celtic dominate Scottish football over his time at the club. He scored 43 goals in Scotland (51 in total) before earning his big-money move to French side, Lyon.
Clearly, Steven Gerrard has identified Dembele as a striker who can do a job for his new club and with no fee involved, it is a bit of a no-brainer to try and get him signed up this summer.
The 27-year-old striker would definitely add quality to Gerrard’s side and no doubt, with the amount of money swimming about the Saudi League, Dembele will be handsomely rewarded for his services if he agrees to make the move.
