Celtic have been very active in the summer transfer window as Brendan Rodgers looks to bolster his squad to defend the treble and make a mark in Europe.
And whilst Rodgers has been busy, so have our rivals, Rangers. Michael Beale has added no less than seven players to his squad as he embarks on an Ibrox rebuild to challenge Celtic.
And whilst Rodgers recognises that work that is being done on the south side of Glasgow, the Celtic boss remains fully focused on the job at hand at Paradise.

Rodgers said [Sky Sports], “When I came here the first time, the talk obviously was about Rangers being promoted. They’d beaten Celtic well in a [Scottish Cup] semi-final game so they were coming back.
“Aberdeen like you say were very strong and some of the other teams. So I think you can only judge it once you’re here and the climate that you’re in.
“Rangers are invested so they’ll want to be strong and the other teams will be invested as well and looking to keep closing the gap.
“But my focus is primarily on Celtic, making us the very best that we can be and developing the players and looking to get a performance level as consistent as we can. And when I only focus on that, that’s my only concern.”
Rodgers will be more than aware that Rangers will be keen to go one step further and look to wrestle the title from Celtic next season.

And whilst we cannot deny that they have invested heavily in the transfer window, Celtic are not standing still either. Rodgers has already added five new faces to a treble-winning squad whilst only two (Jota and Aaron Mooy) have departed.
Rodgers, whilst correctly addressing the possible threat from our rivals, is also right on with his own stance. He cannot control what any of our rivals do.
All he can do is focus on strengthening Celtic. And if he gets that right, it will not matter what other teams in and around us do.
