Marco Tilio has been enjoying a loan spell away from Celtic over the past two seasons.

The young Australian arrived at Celtic as the most expensive player from the A League but, as yet, has failed to make an impression in Glasgow.

To be fair to Tilio, the Celtic winger has had injury issues whilst in Glasgow and in his homeland as his career struggled to take off.

However, now on loan at Melbourne City, the 23-year-old appears to have recaptured the form that caught Celtic’s attention over two years ago now.

A League labels Marco Tilio ‘the best winger’ amid his uncertain Celtic future

Tilio has been back at Melbourne City for almost two seasons now after the A-League side extended his deal again in January.

But it appears that after helping Melbourne to a convincing 3-0 away win over Western United in the A-League Men’s Finals first leg, the governing body sent Celtic a message over the on-form talent.

The A-League posted on Facebook, “Celtic, are you watching? 16,912km away in Melbourne, “the best winger” in the A-Leagues produced a finals showcase.

“One that raises a big question.”

With Jota out for at least nine months there is the need to strengthen the Celtic front line for the season ahead so could Tilio add to Rodgers’ squad depth?
