Celtic beat Young Boys to secure a place in the Champions League playoffs.
It looked like Celtic might have had to settle for yet another draw in the Champions League after Brendan Rodgers’ Bhoys did everything but score against Young Boys.
Well, that was up until the 86th minute at least. The Hoops did everything to try and break the deadlock at Celtic Park and then an own goal sealed the win and also left former Man City man, Michah Richards ‘buzzing’.

Micah Richards says Celtic’s Adam Idah ‘does really well’ as he rips ‘big daft’ Young Boys player
Richards was speaking about Celtic’s win over Young Boys when he pointed out the hilarious moment that him and Alan Shearer in stitches.
Richards told The Rest Is Football [25m 50s], “Did you see the goal?
Shearer: “I saw the goal last minute.”
Lineker: “It doesn’t matter how they go in though, does it?”
Richards: “It doesn’t. There was so much relief after the huff and the puff in the first half.
“And then he actually doesn’t really well, Idah and then gets his body around. You think he’s just going to open up and slide it in.
“He thinks he’s missed and then the defender, big daft, that’s something I’d do, running back, you just can’t move your feet in time and score an old goal, oh it was devastating.
“But I was buzzing for Celtic. Like you said, it’s exciting, really exciting.”
Celtic’s position in the Champions League puts Europe’s big guns to shame
The UEFA Champions League standings have Celtic in 18th place in the unseeded places. Any sort of positive result against Aston Villa will only likely increase that.
Brendan Rodgers and the Bhoys should take great pride in the league position as Celtic currently sit above the likes of moneybags clubs like PSG, Man City and RB Leipzig.
The Hoops are also on equal points with Serie A giants Juventus, La Liga’s Real Madrid and Bundesliga duo Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
