As pressure mounts on the Celtic board, the Collective have announced a new wave of protests to take place vs Aberdeen this weekend.

After Peter Lawwell’s Celtic resignation, the headlines that have come from the announcement have seen fans being attacked again.

Accusations of Celtic staff members being assaulted have been thrown out there and, if this has happened, it should be condemned to the hilt, as there is no place for this at the club.

However, there was also another accusatory headline where it was claimed a Celtic supporter brandished a weapon towards Parkhead board members after the Bhoys’ defeat to Dundee United.

And that accusation has been vehemently denied by the Celtic Fans Collective as they furiously defend the Hoops support, criticise Lawwell and take shots at the Parkhead board all in one brutal statement.

Celtic Fans Collective highlight Lawwell ‘failures’ and slam fan allegation

The Collective met this week to discuss a new strategy and polled their members on what action should be taken next after the defeat to Dundee United.

And now that Lawwell has resigned, the fan group have broken their silence on the impending departure amongst other ongoings at the club.

The Collective said on X, “The Celtic Fans Collective welcomes the departure of Peter Lawwell from Celtic Football Club.

“During his tenure, the club failed to progress in line with its resources, potential, and the clearly expressed expectations and ambitions of the support. Change at board level continues to be both inevitable and necessary.

“The notion that fans have pursued a threatening campaign against Peter Lawwell and the board is baseless and part of a wider pattern of unsupported allegations being made against fans.

“Today, a newspaper story has even alleged that a supporter brandished a knife at board members during the match against Dundee United. Photographic evidence makes it very clear that this allegation is completely unfounded, and this stands as a ludicrous example of how eager some are to portray the campaign for change as a baying mob.

“The Celtic Fans Collective is committed to peaceful and principled campaigning to hold our board to account.”

Celtic Fans Collective call to arms for Parkhead demonstration vs Aberdeen

And as the Not Another Penny campaign continues, the Collective have issued a call to arms ahead of Celtic’s game against Aberdeen this weekend.

The statement continued, “The real story is that our club is in disarray both on and off the park.

“The Celtic board is responsible for the team’s decline and for the growing disconnect between the club’s leadership and its supporters. The longer they remain in place, the more damage they will do to the club we all love.

“We call on all supporters to join us for a historic demonstration at 2pm on Sunday 21 December, ahead of the match against Aberdeen, to demand the resignations of Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay, and Brian Wilson.

What question would you ask Michael Nicholson and the Celtic board that would require a yes/no answer?

“We also call on all fans to continue to hit the board in the pocket by supporting the Not Another Penny campaign on Sunday and in the run up to Christmas.

“Celtic supporters have a long and storied history of organising collectively, often against overwhelming odds, to achieve great victories.

“This moment in our club’s history calls on fans to unite once again and to send a crystal-clear message to the current custodians: your time is up.

“One down. More to go.”

With Celtic having Brian Wilson in place as interim chairman, it is not known who the club will turn to fill the vacant Lawwell seat.

Many Celtic fans would welcome an appointment like Martin O’Neill, but with Wilfried Nancy’s future in question, the legendary boss could find himself in the Parkhead dugout again.

Tomorrow’s fixture against Aberdeen is massive for Nancy as the Parkhead boss searches for that elusive first win.

As for the Celtic board, well, the fans are simply not letting up.
