Celtic fans will be fed up of hearing about Lennon Miller and, thankfully, the chatter will start to cool down now.
However, since Miller made his move to Udinese, Celtic have been told that the former Motherwell man was actually ‘willing’ to make the move to Glasgow.
But to do that, Celtic would have had to stump up a fair wedge of cash to tempt Motherwell to let him leave for a rival Scottish Premiership club.
It appears that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers was willing to do just that in January and in doing so, he would have broken a transfer record that Motherwell have held since 2019.
That record was set by Celtic and now Udinese have just smashed it.
Udinese smash Celtic’s David Turnbull transfer record
Celtic signed David Turnbull from Motherwell in the summer of 2019 with the BBC reporting a fee of £3.25m being paid for the talented midfielder.
The fee was the largest-ever that Motherwell have received for a player in the club’s history and Celtic set it with the purchase of Turnbull.
Udinese have now broken that record after reportedly paying £4.7m to take Lennon Miller to the Serie A yesterday.
It’s a fee Celtic could have easily matched but now it looks like that new record will stay with the Serie A club for the time being.
How David Turnbull is doing after his £2m Celtic exit in 2024
Turnbull left Celtic for Cardiff City in January 2024 after the young midfielder’s contract entered its last six months with the BBC reporting a healthy £2m fee being recouped for the 26-year-old.
So how has Turnbull fared at the Championship club?

Turnbull has struggled to establish himself at the Welsh club and was left out of the matchday squad for the majority of their fixtures last season.
The former Celtic man did get a small run of substitute appearances for Cardiff as he made five outings in their final five fixtures which entailed three defeats and two draws.
