Celtic defender Maik Nawrocki is enjoying his life away from Glasgow right now.
Nawrocki joined Hannover 96 on loan until the end of the season and the news disappointed some supporters, who criticised Celtic for letting the ‘best defender’ leave.
The 24-year-old is yet to make an appearance in 2. Bundesliga but also had the chance to go elsewhere this summer.

Maik Nawrocki could’ve joined Lechia Gdansk
Ahead of an inevitable summer exit, Nawrocki wasn’t short of options to go and get regular first-team football.
A return to Poland was among the options mentioned, and according to Polish outlet Dziennik Baltycki, the 24-year-old was wanted by Lechia Gdansk.
The Ekstraklasa side were hoping to sign Nawrocki on a one-year loan deal, however, Nawrocki preferred a move to Germany instead of returning to his homeland.
Since the start of the season, Lechia Gdansk have conceded 17 goals in their first five games.
Will Maik Nawrocki return to Celtic?
Despite his lack of football, the defender has always been respectful of the club and issued a positive statement when his move to Hannover was confirmed.
However, Brendan Rodgers has clearly never been a fan of the centre-back, and his work in the summer transfer window to sign two defenders has shown that his future is in doubt.
It’s unlikely we will see Nawrocki back at Celtic Park again but there will always be a feeling of what could’ve been.
