Before arriving at Celtic, Wilfried Nancy was celebrated as one of the top coaches in the MLS.
For weeks, this site and others had been highlighting the glowing reports Nancy was getting as the Celtic job neared.
Many people Stateside were talking up how the Frenchman was a progressive, forward-thinking coach with fresh ideas as Nancy took the MLS by storm during his four years in the US.
The new Celtic boss, however, has clearly been wiped from memory after a bizarre post by the MLS completely ignored one of Nancy’s biggest managerial achievements as the national association gushed over what Lionel Messi and Inter Miami have just done.

Celtic manager Wilfried Nancy’s MLS Cup win has been wiped after Inter Miami success
Inter Miami won the MLS Cup on the 6th of December after beating Vancouver 3-1 in the final.
However, the MLS tweet celebrating the win bizarrely omitted Nancy’s 2023 achievement as they patted Miami manager Javier Mascherano on the back.
The governing body said on X, “What a season for Javier Mascherano.
“Led Inter Miami CF to a Championship in his first season as head coach.”
They then listed all the managers who have achieved this feat except Nancy, who achieved this with Columbus Crew in 2023. Very strange indeed.
